North Huyton
The Area Partnership Board for this area, which involves many different agencies all with an interest or providing services, work together towards a common goal - that of making this area a better place in which to live.
The Chair is Councillor Mike Kearns, and the Area Relationship Director is Lisa Harris.
The move towards a focus on specific areas and neighbourhoods has seen the establishment of area bases, a move away from the current centralised system. The North Huyton base is being developed.
These new changes have already enabled a better response to local priorities, which may be different from one area to another, delivering value for money services and actually listening to residents and involving them more.
Current priorities for this area include the regeneration of Stockbridge Village, driving better health and a push to raise employment levels.
As well as staff from the Council and partner organisations, local residents, businesses and councillors are all helping to make real, sustainable differences. Residents are also being asked to help pinpoint areas that need to be targeted so real improvements can be made.
Some of the achievements for North Huyton so far are:
- strides to make Stockbridge Village a better place
- clearance of River Alt pathway
- IKAN team is established, looking at the health and well-being of the over 55s
- chicanes have been erected to deter anti-social behaviour
- a successful ‘Model Beat’ took place to bring the community, organisations including the police together
