South Huyton

The Area Partnership Board for this area, which involves many different agencies all with an interest or providing services, work together towards a common goal - that of making this area a better place in which to live.

The Chair is Councillor Christine O’Hare, and the Area Relationship Director is Justin Thompson.

The move towards a focus on specific areas and neighbourhoods has seen the establishment of area bases, a move away from the current centralised system. The South Huyton base is being developed.

These new changes have already enabled a better response to local priorities, which may be different from one area to another, delivering value for money services and actually listening to residents and involving them more.

Current priorities for this area include future developments within Huyton Village and issues relating to housing estates.

As well as staff from the Council and partner organisations, local residents, businesses and councillors are all helping to make real, sustainable differences. Residents are also being asked to help pinpoint areas that need to be targeted so real improvements can be made.

Some of the achievements for South Huyton so far are:

- new retail developments now open in Huyton Village

- new health centre at Manor Farm Road

- several clean ups and litter picks throughout the area have taken place

- improvements to the Archway Road roundabout

- alleygates, chicanes and A- frames at various sites to deter anti- social behaviour

- Hustle activities
